Inzana Ranch & Produce (Organic)

Matthew and Amy discovered this amazing ranch several years ago when they were touring California and introduced us to their nuts and dried fruits.  We have ordered various items online several times and everything is always delicious.  As we were deciding on our route from Three Rivers up to Yosemite we realized it was only about 30 miles off our path.  After making a phone call to Joye, the owner, we were on our way.  Joye owns the ranch along with her husband, Tony, but he was out of town so we did not have the pleasure of meeting him.

Our time here was absolutely delightful!  Joye greeted us with a huge smile and we immediately felt welcome.  This is not a retail location.  They actually do not have one.  Their retail sales are through farmer's markets in the northern half of California and through their website.

This is their home!

The ranch is 160 acres of fruit and nut trees along with some hulling, drying and packing facilities.  Inzana is a California certified organic ranch and we discovered just how much work that entails.   Joye gave us a walk through tour of the orchards and groves which was fascinating.  We learned about the process of growing, harvesting and preparing the nuts and fruits for selling.  They are a supplier for Blue Diamond almonds.  The ranch grows 3 types of almonds, Price, Carmel, and Nonpareil.  These have to be planted in alternating rows to encourage pollination.  We saw figs, cherries, pomegranates, apples, plums and many others.

We purchased figs, cherries, apples (all dried) and the best trail mix ever.  Joye gave us Meyer lemons which are delicious.  We are squeezing them in our water and used them in our marinade for the salmon we made for dinner.  We both also tasted mulberries for the first time.  They were just beginning to ripen and are fabulous!
